Our theme for Advent this year is “The Journey”. As Mary and Joseph journey to Bethlehem, so will the congregation journey to Christmas through the season of Advent. Along the way we will discover it is a journey taken in hope, walked with peace, filled with joy and destined for love. Come along for a journey worth taken as we seek Christ and his presence in our lives.

Below is a calendar of events for this Advent at Nassagaweya Presbyterian Church. We hope they will help you celebrate this special season and prepare yourself for Christmas.

Calendar of Events

Jesse Tree Kit
NPC is providing any family who would like, a Jess Tree kit for Advent. A Jesse tree is like an advent calendar but instead of opening a little door each day, you get to create a Christmas ornament to hang on your Jesse Tree. With each ornament is a story to read from the Bible and a prayer. Make it part of your family dinner time or do it before bed. You can download the instructions by clicking The Jesse Tree – Instructions – 2017 and the ornaments by clicking jessepatterns or pick up a kit at the church with all the supplies you’ll need. The first day of Advent is December 3rd and the kits will be ready for pick-up on November 26th.

Walking Devotional
Take a walk to Bethlehem using this walking devotional (Walk-to-Bethlehem-Advent-Pilgrimmage). There is a scripture for you to meditate on for everyday of Advent and tools for keeping track of how far you walk each day. Each Sunday we will add up the kilometres and see if we can walk the distance from Nazareth to Bethlehem (111 km).
