The Vision Fund is another way you can give to the life and ministry of Nassagaweya Presbyterian Church through the giving of special or planned gifts (i.e. gifts from accumulated assets, including bequests in wills, proceeds from life insurance, gifts of publicly traded securities, charitable gift annuities, etc.)
The purpose of this fund is to expand the congregation’s long term ministry and mission beyond what could be done through the annual budget or other fundraising appeals.
The Vision Fund is made up of the following four separate funds:
Legacy Fund
The principal of this fund will be invested in perpetuity and the annual income will be distributed to the Capital and/or Mission Fund(s) depending on the needs of the congregation.
Capital Fund
The principal and income from this fund are available to be used for special projects and capital projects that enhance the physical facilities and overall aesthetics and safety of the Church building(s) and improvements extending beyond the annual operational budget or other budget programs.
Mission Fund
The principal and income from this fund are available to be applied to special programs, extended missions and extraordinary benevolence.
Designated Endowment Fund(s)
The principal in each of these funds will be invested in perpetuity and the annual income will be distributed from each of the funds to be used only for the specific purpose for which the gift was intended.
Allocation of Funds
Undesignated planned gifts made to the Vision Fund will be allocated as follows:
- One-quarter (¼) to the Capital Fund
- One-quarter (¼) to the Mission Fund
- One-half (½) to the Legacy Fund
Donors may alternately decide to designate one or more of the four funds to which they would like their gift to go. In all cases, every attempt will be made to honour the wishes of the donor.
How to donate
There are many ways to make a planned gift to the Vision Fund. NPC strongly encourages that donors consult their financial planner or other professional to see which type of planned gift is right for them. Gifts to the Vision Fund can also be made through regular weekly offerings, on the NPC website or by mailing a cheque.
